About Couch Cal
Good enough tracking you actually do.
Couch Cal is a photo-first calorie tracker. You snap a photo of a meal, or type a description, scan a barcode, or list everything you ate in one go, and an AI estimates the calories. Then you get on with your day. It is for people who would rather eat than count.
Why it exists
Most trackers ask for more data, more taps, and more precision than anyone keeps up for long. We went the other way: one photo, an estimate that is good enough, and a habit that sticks because it is easy. We are not here to be perfect. We are here to make tracking so easy you actually do it.
The bear
Couch Cal has a bear. Its mood follows how your day is going against your calorie target: sleepy when nothing is logged, happy and then content as you get there, surprised if you go over. The bear tracks calories, not morality. No meal is good or bad, and tomorrow is a new day.
What it is not
Estimates are estimates, and they can be wrong. Couch Cal is not medical or dietary advice, and it will not lecture you about what you ate. If you have a medical condition, an eating disorder, or a special diet, talk to a professional.
Where you can use it
Couch Cal is a web app at app.couchcal.com, and an iOS app is coming soon. Estimates cost coins: a free account gets 7 coins for life, and a subscription gives you 7 coins a day, reset at midnight in your timezone. The terms spell out the details, and the privacy policy says what we collect and who else touches it.
